Preparing Your Quilt
for Machine Quilting
 |
Pieced quilt tops should be flat, square and parallel.
We will try our best but fullness and puckering may not always be able
to be quilted out. |
 |
When attaching borders, take time to measure width and
length through the centre of the quilt top and ease the seams if
necessary to ensure straight borders and parallel sides.
|
 |
Seams
should be pressed to lay flat and to the darker fabric side with all
selvedges removed. |
 | Do not baste
or pin your quilt together. |
 |
Indicate top edge of quilt. |
 |
Backing fabric must be square and parallel and 6 inches (15cm) longer
and 6 inches (15cm) wider than the
measurement of the
quilt
top. Backing fabric must be pre-washed and ironed. If backing is joined,
then the seam should be a half inch ironed open and flat.
|
 |
If
supplying your own wadding it must be square and parallel and 6 inches
(15cm) longer and 6 inches (15cm) wider than the
measurement of the
quilt
top. |
 | Please note
that the same colour cotton will always be used on the front and back of
the quilt. |
Proper preparation will ensure the best result and save extra charges. |
